Al Ain University (AAU) is a private university established in 2004 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The university started its academic journey in 2005 with three colleges offering programs in Engineering, Business, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences. With a vision of constant growth, AAU expanded its facilities by launching a second campus in Abu Dhabi in 2008, catering to Business and Law programs.
Today, AAU offers 22 undergraduate programs across six colleges, including Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business, Communication, and Media. The university has also added eight Master’s programs and one Professional Diploma in Teaching program. AAU operates under the license of the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) and aims to achieve international accreditation of its programs.
AAU has achieved accreditation from various respected educational bodies for its programs. The College of Engineering programs, including “B.Sc. in Networks & Communication Engineering,” “B.Sc. in Computer Engineering,” and “B.Sc. in Software Engineering,” are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The “Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy” program has the distinction of being the first in UAE to be certified by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Additionally, the “Bachelor of Law” has been accredited by the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES).
Moreover, the College of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences has granted the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Accreditation to two academic programs: Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Teaching and Bachelor of Education in Special Education. The College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and the “Bachelor of Mass Communication and Media” program has been accredited by the Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute (AQAS).
