BOTTOM MAKER JOB will do the fallowing jobs / work – 1. Relines bottoms of ingot-soaking pits with coke dust to retard formation of oxide scale on hot ingots: Digs out molten metal, slag scale, and cinder from bottoms of pits, using flat-pointed bar, and scrapes debris into ladle. 2. Shovels coke dust into pit, using bar to level bottom surface. 3. May change crane tong bits, using sledgehammer.
