Work information, duties, and responsibilities of a continuous-linter-drier operator are the following:
1. Tends equipment that fluffs and dries cotton linters or woodpulp for further processing into explosives: Places portion of linters or woodpulp on revolving rollers that feed it into cylinder equipped with picking spikes. 2. Inspects fluffed material for presence of impurities and fluffy appearance as it is discharged into drier. 3. Moves controls to maintain temperature of hot-air oven at plant standard and to regulate speed of drier conveyor for efficient drying. 4. When tending separate picking and drying units, may be designated according to unit tended as Cotton-Picker Operator; Linter-Drier Operator.
