The Pizza Hut story began in May 1958 when brothers Dan and Frank Carney opened a 550-square-foot pizza restaurant in Wichita, Kansas. Along with friends Richard Beemer and John Bender, they made the pizzas themselves. Frank rolled the dough, Richard tossed it in the air, Dan added the sauce, and John handled the baking. Dan Carney recalled, “People were enchanted with the product, watching us toss the dough over our heads.
